Video: Top 20 Amazing Cinematic Techniques Part 1.





Pretty interesting but I have to say most of the movies used for examples aren't to my taste.

  1. I love Children of Men! It's a really interesting movie, if you haven't seen it. One thing I wanted to point out is the very first scene they show in this video is a cool technique, but it's even cooler if you get the scene shot right before it. It has a lot of the "hidden" cuts so it feels like one really long take. And not having cuts in a scene makes your audience uneasy. It's a way to build suspense. Coupled with the fact that it's a rather playful scene, positioned next to that scene, with the crash, and then the people coming from the woods, it really heightens the intensity of the scene shown. Tons of good tricks in that movie!
